Parenting Resources for the 21st Century
The site is part of a joint effort by several Federal agencies to promote a national agenda for children and foster positive youth development, and offers parents information on topics such as child care, education, health and safety.

Colorado Parent Information and Resource Center
This page is produced by the Colorado Parent Information and Resource Center, which is funded by the Department of Education's Goals 2000 Educate America Act. Much of the material in this site is of particular interest to parent educators. But this page does contain a great section with tips for parents. You can also find links to other good sited for parents here.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
Providing immediate assistance to individuals in suicidal crisis by connecting them to the nearest available suicide prevention and mental health service provider through a toll-free telephone number: 1-800-273-TALK (8255). It is the only national suicide prevention and intervention telephone resource funded by the Federal Government.

The Center for Effective Parenting
This page, produced by The Center for Effective parenting is also funded under the US Dept. of Education's Goals 2000 Initiative. There is very useful material here for both parents and parent educators on a wide variety of topices. They also host a well produced "Links" page.

Parents Place
Parenting tips from parent educators, as well as other parents; articles on nearly any parent-related issue.

Kid Source
Four categories of information: newborns, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged. Kid Source offers a variety of articles, products and services and links to other sites. Articles, are grouped by health, education, recreation, and parenting, using a five-star rating system.

Parent Soup
Parenting tips, discussion groups, chat groups, and a variety of topics on which parents can seek and receive "expert" advice. Parent Soup also offers "communities" for parents in each stage of parenting. Check out the name finder for expectant parents!

Parent Time
This is a weekly electronic newsletter to which parents can subscribe. Parents can customize the articles to their child's age, or their stage in pregnancy. It contains parenting-related articles, health information, articles on relationships, bulletin boards, chats, and an "ask the experts" section. You can also find fun topics such as recipes, baby names, and a cartoon of the day.

Parenthood Web
Another free weekly electronic newsletter offered to subscribers. This newsletter allows you to select a topic and read articles on this topic by experts in the field. Parents are invited to add their comments and read other parents comments in the "forum" section. Parents can also access articles, surveys, and chat with other parents during live and scheduled chats.

Parents Guide to the Internet
This web page is sponsored by the US Department of Education. It contains a pamphlet to assist and encourage parents to learn the internet so they can help their children develop these same skills. Find helpful, step by step information for parents including: a history of the internet, basic computer terms, how to use the internet, and practice examples. There is also a section related to "child-safe-surfing" issues. Contains lots of links to family fun sites also!

National Parent Information Network
This site contains information for parents including full text publications on a variety of parenting topics (some in Spanish), and reviews and abstracts of other resources (books and newlsetters) for parents. In addition, it sponsors a monthly electronic newsletter called Parent News, with archives dating back to 1995.

Parenting Matters
Articles related to parenting issues: New articles are added frequently. It features articles targeted towards specific audiences [ie: as fathers, grandparents.] Parents can post questions for counselors to respond to, or share ideas/opinions on the bulletin board. This site links into LifeMatters newsletter, which hosts forums for both parents and non-parents on the topics of health, relationship, success, and nutrition.

The National Parenting Center
Advice from experts in a variety of fields relateing to parenting or children; chat rooms, newsletters, and reviewed products for children and parents.

Sesame Street Parents
Produced by the makers of Sesame Street, this site hosts articles for parents on child behavior/discipline issues, education, safety, health and family & community issues.

National Institute on Media and the Family
Here you can research your family's media viewing habits! NIMF displays a rating system called KidScore, which rates TV shows, movies, video and computer games from a family oriented perspective.

Children, Youth and Family Consortium
The Table of Contents section provides a wealth of links, articles, and publications on parenting related issues for parents, parent educators, and education personnel, as well as information about the CYFC. Also hosts the site, FatherNet.

Parent News
Parenting articles and tips: Tips feature a variety of different subjects. You'll also find a movie review section, and a bibliography, although the bibliography is not annotated. There are links for educators sites and links for kids to access to receive help in homework.
